The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will release a new 500
coin starting 2016. The said coin will replace the current 500 peso bill. The design of the coin has not been finalize yet but
our source from the BSP gave us a sample of the coin pending the approval from

Sources from the Palace said that only one side is approved.
The Malacanang is still in the process of choosing a former or current official who will
be a perfect fit for the other side of the new 500 coin.
